The Dancing House Staff
Director & Owner
Hey there! I'm so glad you're here.
I'm Melissa, and I love Dance. IÂ love to be it, teach it, watch it, and create it.
When you come into one of our studios, you become part of the family.
You'll be greeted with hugs  and taught with encouragement from a trained and caring professional.
My hope is that you leave our doors better than you came in. Whether it's expressing a new dance step, or song, building your confidence or heightening your health we want you to radiate joy!
We want Dance to be the Highlight of Your Week!
Melissa has been a dance educator for over 30 years and a studio owner for 16 years. Receiving a BFA in Musical Theatre from UW-Stevens Point, she then performed and choreographed professionally throughout the midwest. In 2009, she started her own studio The Dancing House where she shares the art of dance to beginner dancers of all ages both in her her brick and mortar studio and her online membership platform called Dance on Demand. As an established entrepreneur, Melissa is sought out as a business coach guiding powerhouse women go from chaos to clarity through consistent action and being the “Only Option in Town” through her podcast Brick and Mortar Visibility.
I'm Alyssa and this is my third year as an instructor for The Dancing House. I'm excited to be back for another year!
I began dancing at the age of 4 and grew up dancing recreationally until jr. high, when I began competition classes in jazz, lyrical, ballet, and tap. In high school I performed as one of the 4 angels in the production “Anything Goes” and was a performer and choreographer in a musical revue of historic Broadway shows. I also choreographed a jr. production of “The Big Bad Musical.”
I went on to the University of Minnesota Duluth, where I studied early childhood education while still taking dance classes and being a part of a student run dance group. I graduated with a bachelor's degree in early childhood general and special education. In college is when I began teaching dance classes and have been doing so for over a decade now. As a teacher I still take class for myself when I can and have attended the Dance Teacher Web conference in Las Vegas, and the Twin Cities Tap festival in past years. I've taught multiple styles in both recreational and competition classes, but tap is forever my favorite!
My day job is teaching at St. Francis School in Ellsworth, where I live, with my husband and two kids- Lucy and Theo.
I look forward to another amazing year sharing my love of dance with others!
Hi, I’m Miss Sophi and this is my third year at The Dancing House.Â
I have always had a passion for dance and love working with the students here at TDH! My favorite thing about being an instructor is watching all of our students grow in their confidence through dance and shine their light!
I grew up dancing since I was 4 years old at a local studio, then in highschool I danced on the varsity raidaires dance team, and was a captain my senior year. Now I am studying at the University of St. Thomas aiming for a career in Occupational Therapy, where I am also continuing my dance journey on their Club Dance Team. I will also be coaching for the Hudson Middle Schools Raiderette Dance Team this year!
The Dancing House is certainly the highlight of my week, and I hope it becomes yours too!
I’m Miss Savanna and I'm a second year teacher here at The Dancing House. I've been dancing ever since I took my first steps. I was in competition dance and did a little dance team at my high school as well!
I am from Minnesota but I attend the University of Wisconsin River Falls studying elementary education!
My favorite styles of dance are Jazz, lyrical, ballet and contemporary. In my free time I play guitar, go fishing and I love to cook/bake.
I’m very excited to be a part of TDH and I’m looking forward to working with all the wonderful dancers here!
I'm Hannah and I'm a first time teacher at The Dancing House.
I have been dancing since I was 4 years old and I love every moment of the journey. I am a current junior at UW River Falls, majoring in Biomedical and Health Sciences. I'm a captain on the UWRF dance team. When I'm not dancing I am hanging out with friends and family or at the gym.
My favorite styles are ballet, jazz, and hip hop. I love seeing the dedication of the dancers at such a young age and I am super excited to share my knowledge of dance.
