Why The Dancing House Is Hudson's Top Pom & Kick Training Studio for Future Dance Team Stars

Hudson Raidaires 2025-2026

At The Dancing House, we know that dreams start young.

For many dancers in Hudson, one of those big dreams is taking the field under the Friday night lights as a Hudson Raidaire. But becoming a member of a high school dance team like the Raidaires doesn’t happen overnight. It takes dedication, training, and a solid foundation in performance, technique, and teamwork. That’s exactly why we created our Pom & Kick class for dancers ages 7-12.

This class is the only one of its kind in the Hudson area, specifically designed for aspiring middle and high school dancers who have their sights set on the Raiderettes or the high school Raidaires dance team. With a curriculum that blends the core styles of pom, kick, jazz, and hip hop, students learn the essential skills needed to stand out at team tryouts. We work on everything from sharp motions and high kicks to musicality, stamina, and performance quality.

But it's about more than just the technique. Being on a dance team requires confidence, adaptability, the ability to learn choreography quickly, and the willingness to work as a unit. Our Pom & Kick dancers experience all of that in action, performing at local football and basketball halftime shows thanks to partnerships with Hudson Boosters and Hudson Hoops.

These performances build the stage presence and confidence needed to thrive on a high school team.

We're especially proud of our student Rhylinn, who made the Hudson JV Dance Team as an incoming freshman this year! Her journey started in classes just like this one. And she’s not alone—many of our dancers have already begun performing with local middle school dance teams, setting them up for success at the next level.

To fully prepare our students, we always recommend supplementing Pom & Kick with technique-building classes like ballet, jazz, and hip hop. It takes more than just a couple of hours a week to reach elite levels—many dancers spend upwards of 10 hours in the studio, working on strength, flexibility, and endurance.

This summer, we’re offering a dedicated Pom & Kick class as part of our 7-week unlimited Summer Pass. It’s the perfect opportunity for dancers to experience real growth, gain performance opportunities, and take a huge step toward their dance goals.
